SGSS is currently looking for an experienced full-time Information Systems Security Engineer (ISSE) to support the Information Assurance team at Blossom Point in Welcome, MD. The successful candidate will be responsible for the following:
Assist in preparing, providing direction, and reviewing relevant documentation to include System Security Plans (SSPs), Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Risk Assessment Reports, Remediation Plans, Plans of Actions and Milestones (POAMs), Assessment and Authorization (A&A) packages, and System Requirements Traceability Matrices (SRTMs)
Support information security accreditation activities in compliance with applicable federal government policies and procedures
Perform vulnerability and risk assessment analysis to support continuous monitoring and security control testing
Perform installation and processing of new security products and procedures
Monitor networks and systems for security breaches and intrusions
Assist in configuring monitoring software that helps notify the team of security events and irregular system behavior
Conduct periodic scans of networks and systems to identify vulnerabilities and assist the IT team in determining mitigation techniques
Perform incident response activities to minimize impact
Work closely with system engineers, government security team and leadership to ensure security design, compliance, and schedule adherence
Must have minimum active DoD TS security clearance with SCI eligibility
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Cybersecurity, or related field of study; or six years of related professional experience in lieu of education
Must have or obtain a Cybersecurity Professional certification commensurate with their role (e.g., IAM Level 1, Level 2, etc.) - minimum Security+ No less than five (5) years of professional experience as an Information Systems Security Engineer
Direct experience reviewing and developing Risk Management Framework (RMF) accreditation/certification packages
Experience maintaining operational security postures for programs and information systems
Experience with installation and processing of security products and procedures
Ability to communicate information assurance issues to peers and management
Familiarity with system administration duties to ensure good security communication with the Information Technology (IT) team
Ability to read and use the results of mobile code, malicious code, and anti-virus software
DOD 8570, CISSP, CEH, CCIE
Demonstrated ability to independently analyze and identify solutions in a fast-paced environment
Experience installing and using firewalls, data encryption programs, etc., to protect sensitive information
