Job Description:

Parsons is seeking a Computer Programmer to assist Naval Medical Research Unit - Dayton (NAMRU-D) and its collaborating institutions in the conduct of aerospace medical and environmental health research to further understand the human cognitive and physiological factors associated with military operations in aviation, underwater, and special warfare environments. The Computer Programmer will develop, modify, and test software in a fast-paced, highly dynamic environment. NAMRU-D researchers will use the software in the analysis and solution of scientific, engineering, and other technical problems.

Duties Skills and Abilities

  • Develop, modify, and test programming code for computerized experimental tasks in support of research activities.

  • Write programming scripts to enhance functionality and/or performance of software applications in support of research activities as necessary.

  • Troubleshoot system bugs and issues.

  • Develop user manuals, procedures, and guidelines.

  • Train research personnel to operate new or modified programs.

Required Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field and 5+ years' hands-on coding experience or 8+ years hands-on coding experience

  • Experience in programming languages to include C, C++, C#, Python,, PHP, and scripting languages

Desired Experience

  • Experience with flight simulation development tools such as X-Plane, GLStudio, and Falconview.

Must be able to obtain, maintain and/or currently possess a security clearance.
