Parsons is seeking a Research Psychologist to assist Naval Medical Research Unit - Dayton (NAMRU-D) and its collaborating institutions in the conduct of aerospace medical and environmental health research to further understand the psychological factors associated with military operations in aviation, underwater, and special warfare environments.
Research Psychologist will support medical research projects in NAMRU-D's Naval Aerospace Medical Research Laboratory (NAMRL). NAMRL is equipped with research capabilities in acceleration and sensory science, environmental physiology, biomedical sciences, and engineering and technical services, all of which are supported by a unique collection of state-of-the-science research devices. NAMRL's unique research portfolio enables NAMRU-Dayton to transition validated knowledge and effective technologies to the fleet to sustain and enhance performance and mitigate and prevent leading factors associated with flight mishaps, aerospace health threats, and aircrew performance.
Prepare, review, and assist with design and conduct of psychological research focusing on behavioral and cognitive effects on human performance.
Develop research pre-proposals, research protocols, formal technical reports, and journal publications addressing behavioral and cognitive effects on human performance.
Support execution of research projects by helping to make recommendations about requirements, obtaining/developing laboratory materials, developing documentation, and assisting in the approval of related Institutional Review Board documents, and managing resources necessary to meet project goals (subject to Government approval).
Coordinate research subject recruitment and data collection.
Obtain raw data, assemble analytic data sets, and gather test/survey/experiment results.
Apply multiple methods to analyze data.
Prepare summaries and publications for non-research technical and general audiences.
Prepare, review, and assist with the development of technical reports, presentations, and publications
Report findings, outcomes, and recommendations through formal meetings, presentations, briefings, and publications.
Frequent travel required
PhD and at least 2 years' research experience or MA or MS with at least ten years' research experience in a relevant field of study.
PhD in a relevant field of study (physiology, exercise science, etc.).
Must be able to obtain, maintain and/or currently possess a security clearance.
